Depression
The cure for depression is to take your mind off it, while engaging in meaningful activities, focusing on the present. Not by staring into the abyss.
In the past we didn't have so much depression because people didn't acknowledge it as a disease. We didn't pay attention, or we gaslight it.
Now it has a name, and there's a risk to focus on it so much so that you'll never get out. You make it more real by acknowledging it.
